At GO, we are proud to be Malta’s first quadruple play operator, a truly converged and integrated telecommunications company with a wide range of services:  fixed line telephony, mobile telephony, broadband Internet services, digital and IP television, in addition to business-related services like roaming hub services, data networking solutions, business IP services, and managed and co-location facilities.

Our major shareholder (60%) is Emirates International Telecommunications LLC (EIT), a joint venture between TECOM Investments and Dubai Investment Group – both part of Dubai Holding. The remaining shares are traded on the Malta and London Stock Exchanges.

GO and EIT jointly own close to 42% of Forthnet SA, a fast-growing telecommunications company in Greece.

GO is the only Maltese communications provider that owns and operates two fibre-optic submarine cable links to Europe, one via Telecom Italia and the other via Interoute.

GO operates an extensive network of quad-play retail outlets covering Malta and Gozo and has several authorised dealers selling the company’s range of services. GO was the first communications company in Malta to operate a 24X7, all week long customer call centre. GO operates also a dedicated B2B service under the brand name GO Business.

In 2008, GO launched BlackBerry in the local market, as well as Malta’s first quad-play bundle – Home Pack, which proved very successful. This was followed up with Business Pack, a bundle including all the communication services required by businesses.

In 2009, GO acquired a majority stake in BMIT Group which provides a variety of services including co-location, managed services as well as the provision of IP connectivity.  In 2011, it acquired the balance of the shareholding.

In 2009, GO announced it had acquired the exclusive local broadcasting rights for the English Premier League and the Italian Serie A for the coming seasons. In June 2011, GO launched television delivered over the broadband network under the brand name GO interactive tv, which provides over 100 channels including some HD ones.

Also in 2011, GO launched a B2B hub targeting international mobile operators with roaming hub and other value added services. Together with BMIT, GO began offering various cloud based services.

As one would expect from one of the major companies on the island with a history spanning over 36 years, GO has a very active corporate social responsibility programme, supporting a range of entities and causes, from charitable and environmental to cultural and entrepreneurial.

The registered and trading company name of GO is GO plc. GO’s Chairman is Mr Deepak S. Padmanabhan and its Chief Executive Officer is Mr David Kay.
